Gay Marriage is a Freedom Given by God

The evangelical right is turning red at the audacity of same sex marriage taking place in a “Nation under God”.  Benny Hinn predicted the demise of Homosexuality (Orlando Christian center, Dec. 31st. 1989).  Reverend Bob Larson performed gay demon exorcisms (huff post).  Vladimir Puttin has banned it (the Independent).  Homosexuality is still running ramped according to the media everyone is turning gay and looking to get a marriage license.

What is the church to do? Do they continue to ban, exorcise, hope God wipes gays from the face of the earth, or hope science finds this so called gay gene and eradicated it.  Jesus had a better approach to areas of behavior he did not agree with.  With the Samaritan women he chose not to condemn her but show mercy and ask that she turn from her sinful lifestyle(Jn.4-4:26).  Bartimaeus who everyone thought did not deserve the attention of the Lord, Jesus chose to meet him with grace and Love and healed him (Mark 10:46-52).  When it comes to known thieves (tax collectors) he chose to bond with them (Mark 2:13-17).  While being falsely accused and murdered he chose to forgive and heal (Matt. 26:52, Luke 23:34).

Why such a contrast between Christ and his followers, is it responding like Jesus leaves a bad taste in our mouths?  Maybe we think he handled it all wrong and we are here to correct his mistakes? Is it that we forgot one important rule when it comes to the almighty God; we are free to do on this earth as we please as long as we know that every action has its price.  For the wages of sin is death but the Gift of God is Eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord Rm. 6:23
